Its name derives from the Lambrate district of Milan and the nearby Lambro river, where the original factory was based.

Although Innocenti’s original production ceased in the early 1970s, the Lambretta name endured. Today, the trademark is managed by Innocenti S.A. in Switzerland, which oversees its revival and global brand strategy. The modern era began in 2017 with the launch of the acclaimed V Series, successfully blending heritage-inspired design with cutting-edge engineering. Building on this momentum, the X300 and G350 models, unveiled in 2023, mark the next chapter in Lambretta’s story — bold, technologically advanced, yet faithful to the brand’s spirit of timeless Italian design.
